Tom Hanks once said that the cinema has the power to make you not feel lonely, even when you are! This ultimately holds true. Bollywood is the busiest movie society in the world, with almost 1000 movies released every year.

The intention of feel-good movies is not to reinvent cinema. It is to bring back the excitement of going to the cinema. They focus on escaping from reality. Such feel-good Bollywood movies help us feel good, something we don't always experience thanks to the universe.

This list of movies is compiled according to IMDb ratings and will surely give you the much-needed boost you need on those days when you really need one.

Gol Maal (1979)

IMDb Rating: 8.5/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video; SonyLiv

Starring Amol Palekar, Utpal Dutt, Bindiya Goswami, and David, this classic hit won several awards and was a favorite of critics. It was the highest-grossing film of 1979 and a super hit. The subtle humor, the sweet and innocently funny dialog, and the background score given by RD Burman make this movie the best out there.

Ramprasad, who works for Bhavani and discourages his employees from having hobbies, is the focus of Gol Maal. When Bhavani spots Ramprasad at a hockey game, he tells Bhavani a lie about having twins, which turns out to be hilarious. The movie shows how a common man tries to play his best hand, especially when he is desperate for work. It is a classical comedy that never gets too loud and has intelligent humor. You won't want to pause or stop watching the movie at any point. You won't be able to stop watching each scene.

3 Idiots

IMDb Rating 8.4/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

3 Idiots is among the finest feel-good Bollywood movies produced in India. This film, which was directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel Five Point Someone: What Not to Do at IIT. The movie is a mimic of the common struggles in the present Indian educational system and tells the story of three friends (Rancho, Farhan, and Raju) who are focusing on an Indian design school. We can learn a lot of important things from this film. This movie, along with lessons on friendship, happiness, and love, gave us a big mantra, i.e., “All is well" (pronounce it in Rancho’s style, otherwise it won’t work).

Munna Bhai MBBS

IMDb Rating 8.1/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

This Sanjay Dutt film gave us a number of lessons. The most important of them was that a “Jaadu Ki Jhappi” could heal everything and “Marne se pehle jeena seekh le.” When Munna Bhai enters the screen in his signature manner and begins to sing "Jaadu Ki Jhappi," everyone's heart melts. Despite the fact that he is a "bhai," he is charming. Despite threats of extortion, he is everyone's go-to person. Despite threats of kidnapping, he fears his parents. Munna Bhai MBBS is not just a movie about a crass gangster turning into a good guy. It is a movie about a man who has morals even when he is on the wrong path. Munna is Robin Hood. He craves his father’s, mother's, and lady’s love and is a man with family values. Mix it with some situational humor, and you have a feel-good Bollywood movie on your hands.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

IMDb Rating 8/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the best feel-good Bollywood movies ever produced. It is romantic, it has Shahrukh and Kajol in their lead roles, and it has been running in Maratha Mandir, Mumbai, for more than 25 years now. This movie gave Bollywood Raj and Shah Rukh Khan in one go! Raj became the ideal man for every girl, and SRK became the King of Romance. Raj was the epitome of a brat, but his "Hindustani at heart" angle was just too cute to ignore. Oh, how glad we are that neither Tom Cruise nor even Saif Ali Khan, who were both considered for DDLJ, did it.

Also, DDLJ gave us the most loved film album in the Bollywood film industry.

English Vinglish

IMDb Rating 7.8/10

Available on: JioCinema; ZEE5

Bollywood has developed a reputation for creating some of the most powerful family dramas over the years. In addition, a family drama featuring Sridevi is sure to enthrall millions of spectators. After all, she is an actor, and her portrayal of the role she played was stunning. She is also recognized for her versatility. Despite Sridevi's nearly four decades of success, her 2012 comeback movie, English Vinglish, stands out for a number of reasons.

For the uninitiated, English Vinglish portrayed the tale of a modest middle-aged woman who was devoted to her family. But her problems with the English language regularly led to unpleasant situations. Her journey to the United States, however, not only caused a change in her view on life but also provided her with the confidence she needed to overcome her English language barriers. In addition to having a profound emotional impact on millions of individuals in several ways, English Vinglish also contained some valuable life lessons.

Karwaan

IMDb Rating 7.6/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

To classify Karwaan as a movie about a road journey and put it in the same category as films like Highway, Piku, or even Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara would be a "grave" mistake. It doesn't even romanticize the idea of traveling, much less a particular place.

Three unusual traveling companions, Avinash (Dulquer Salmaan), Tanya (Mithila Palkar), and Shaukat (Irrfan Khan), travel around south India for non-celebratory purposes. Both a funeral and a dead body are seen in the movie. Nevertheless, the movie's director, Akarsh Khurana, did an amazing job of turning the devastating death of a parent in a vehicle accident into a lighthearted and moving story. While driving through the stunning hills of Karnataka and Kerala, you will laugh and cry as the three friends open up to one another and rediscover themselves, their fears, and their truths.

Piku

IMDb Rating 7.6/10

Available on: SonyLiv

Piku is a movie about a father-daughter relationship, but as you see it, you realize it is so much more: It is also about the journey of life. It is about reconnecting with your origins; learning to love, accept, and ultimately live with people despite their shortcomings. Bhashkor Banerjee's bowel problems and other commonplace events have been used to show all of this to us in such a way that you are left wanting more.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

IMDb Rating 7.2/10

Available on: YouTube

The movie is about an average-looking, middle-class man who falls in love with a good-looking woman. As fate would have it, they get married too. But all he can think about is having a bit of an inferiority complex. Shah Rukh Khan's character Suri represents Bollywood's conviction that conventional conformists live midway between the heroic young and the evil elderly, their predetermined middleness preventing them from recognizing their own heroics.

Band Baaja Baaraat

IMDb Rating 7.2/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

The destiny of Band Baaja Baaraat was decided by two newcomers. Anushka was just two years old when she signed the Yash Raj banner movie. Ranveer Singh made his acting debut. Who could have imagined that a movie with two fresh protagonists would have such a strong impact that audiences would remember it for years to come?

The film's main premise was "opposites attract," which is a common motif in Bollywood rom-com. Shruti is a young lady who is independent, motivated, and certain of the things she wants out of life. In contrast, Bittoo is a youngster who lacks ambition. He only desires to experience life to the fullest. Shruti and Bittoo fall in love despite their glaring differences. It was entertaining to listen to their endearing banter.

Welcome

IMDb Rating 7/10

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

There is a solid reason why Akshay Kumar's Welcome has over the years developed into a cult favorite. A terrific ensemble of performers, humorous language, and exotic settings combine to make this a pleasant family film. Every scene has humorous lines that might become a meme. It's conceivable that's why it's become more and more well-liked over time.

These feel good Bollywood movies are bound to bring a smile to your face. Let us know which movie you enjoyed the most.
