Here's a short biographical sketch of him. Dr. Ashwini Kumar, who was born on March 16, 1972, completed her matriculation at Lohardaga, Jharkhand. Later, he completed his intermediate at B.N. college in Patna before being chosen for his MBBs medical degree at North Bengal Medical College in 1991. He completed his ophthalmology residency and became the top eye surgeon at Mahavir Netralaya Patna. Both of Dr. Ashwini's parents are retired educators. In 2013, he suffered a brain hemorrhage and became paralyzed, unable to operate, so he went to Shankar Netralaya in Chennai and began a new visual rehabilitation treatment in Bihar, allowing patients who had lost hope of ever regaining their vision to see better, earn their living, and live independently. His wife divorced him since he was crippled after paralysis due to brain hemorrhage. His daughter lives with her mother. But after all this too he was determined to assist his community despite all obstacles. At Mahavir Netralaya Patna, Dr. Ashwini Kumar is a consultant ophthalmologist and a low vision assistance expert.

Dr Ashwini used to study a lot in his childhood days and was determined to come a doctor one day. He didn't like to go on vacations nor did he watch movies. He had infinite love for his books and studies. Now also he prefers to study and help selflessly the society. He doesn't enjoy vacations and movies.

In future he wishes to open a school for blind people and help them to his fullest capacity.
