Trust, Belonging, Dedication: Amit Shah Recalls PM Modi’s Greatest Lesson as Nation Celebrates His 75th Birthday

Update: 2025-09-17 15:10 GMT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 75 on September 17, 2025, marking the day with nationwide celebrations, political tributes, and personal anecdotes that highlighted his leadership style. From Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar to international greetings from world leaders, the milestone birthday reflected Modi’s influence across political, social, and global spheres.

Amit Shah’s Anecdote: A Lesson in Leadership

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, one of PM Modi’s closest associates, chose to honor the occasion with a personal memory that he said shaped his own approach to leadership.

Recalling an incident from years ago, Shah narrated how he once traveled with Modi from Ahmedabad to Rajkot late at night. Modi suggested stopping at a dhaba in Suryanagar run by a BJP worker. While Shah enjoyed a proper meal, Modi quietly ate only fruit and a few wafers. Later, Shah discovered that the car had been waiting for other party workers to finish eating, and Modi deliberately delayed his own meal to ensure that everyone accompanying them was looked after first.

“This was not just courtesy,” Shah reflected. “It was a lesson that in any organization, workers come before oneself. Modi ji’s teachings—trust, belonging, and dedication—have become inseparable from my life.”

Shah added that even today, whenever he eats at someone’s home, he consciously ensures that everyone around has eaten before he does—a habit directly inspired by Modi’s example.

A Call for ‘Swadeshi’ on His Birthday

Marking the occasion with a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district, PM Modi urged the people of India to adopt the “swadeshi mantra” by prioritizing Made in India products, especially during the upcoming festival season.

“The path to a Viksit Bharat runs through an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said. “When we buy Indian goods, the money stays in the country and supports development projects.”

During the rally, he also launched initiatives including ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ and ‘Rashtriya Poshan Maah’, aimed at strengthening women’s health and nutrition. In addition, he laid the foundation stone for the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park, signaling continued emphasis on industrial growth and self-reliance.

Greetings from Leaders Across India and the World

Birthday wishes poured in from across the political spectrum:

President Droupadi Murmu praised Modi for cultivating a culture of setting and achieving big goals, wishing him health and happiness.

Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Shashi Tharoor also extended greetings, with Tharoor wishing Modi “continued success in the service of the nation.”

Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav planted trees and donated blood in Rajasthan’s Alwar as a tribute, calling Modi a leader who has dedicated himself to both the nation and environmental protection.

On the international stage, world leaders including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended warm wishes, underscoring Modi’s stature on the global platform.

Bollywood Joins the Celebration

The celebrations went beyond politics. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Alia Bhatt expressed their good wishes on social media. While SRK wished Modi health and happiness, Aamir Khan sent warm regards, and Alia Bhatt noted that she hoped his leadership would continue to shape India’s future positively.

Sewa Pakhwada: BJP’s Nationwide Outreach

To mark the milestone, the Bharatiya Janata Party launched a 15-day “Sewa Pakhwada” campaign running until October 2. The program includes health camps, cleanliness drives, fairs to promote indigenous products, and intellectual gatherings aimed at spreading the spirit of service and self-reliance.

From urban centers to rural towns, BJP-led state governments and the Centre coordinated welfare and awareness activities, ensuring that the Prime Minister’s birthday was celebrated not just ceremonially but through service-driven initiatives.

From Vadnagar to National Leadership

Born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat’s Mehsana district, Narendra Modi’s journey from a small- town upbringing to becoming India’s longest-serving Prime Minister is often described as inspirational. His political career, spanning decades, is marked by grassroots organization, development initiatives, and an emphasis on nationalism and self-reliance.

A Day of Reflection and Resolve

The combined tributes—from Shah’s personal story to the swadeshi appeal, from international greetings to Bollywood wishes—painted a picture of a leader celebrated not only for political power but also for personal discipline and commitment to values.

For Amit Shah, the lesson learned years ago continues to resonate: “In an organization, workers come first.” For PM Modi, the message on his 75th birthday was equally clear: India’s progress lies in trust, self-reliance, and collective dedication.
