Art is a brilliant representation of visualizing outward appearances based on an individual artist's perceptions. You can always make the best out of nothing, or, you can create the best of everything; The colors hold you in. We at the crazy tales share with you, the colorful story of our very own Mrs Indu Mishra a self-taught artist who began her journey in 2013 and had a completely different educational background but somehow allowed us the audience to understand how choices in your career make you a success.

Childhood and family: In her words, she believes, memories make your childhood more beautiful and memorable. She was raised at her maternal grandparents' home in Patna, Bihar. Her father was an Electrical Engineer in the Indian Railways and her mother is a housewife. She has two younger brothers and she shares a very special bond with every person in her family. As a child, she always wanted to do something different making her parents proud as they were always there for guidance and support.

Life as an Artist: She pursued her graduation in Political Science (Honors) post her school education. Her artistic journey began only a couple of years back in 2013 and since then, she has completely devoted herself to her passion.

She has proudly exhibited her paintings in different cities of India through more than 35 solo and group shows. Besides that, she has also participated in various Art festivals and workshops. Owing to her accolades and accomplishments, she also received several awards for promoting Madhubani painting at the International level.

Life-changing decision: It was April 2010 when Indu first thought of taking her long- a lost hobby of painting all over again. Along with her husband, she had already raised her kids into teenagers and so she started exploring her pre-teen hobbies and decided to bring colors to her imagination. She began spending her leisure time with the brushes and in no time, it was getting difficult for her to keep those canvases intact at home. It was then that her husband suggested going all-out with paintings, professionally.

There it was, a moment she had always dreamt of and within three years of her journey, in April 2013, she hosted her first solo exhibition 'Aarambh' at Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand.

After a successful launch, there was no looking back. She capitalized on every opportunity that came by and the very next year, she held another exhibition titled 'Beyond the boundaries' at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It witnessed massive footfall by many renowned personalities from the sports fraternity. The grand success of the show led to the renaming of that venue as the 'Hall of fame' by the then JSCA president.

As she completes a career span of 9 years in this field, she had the opportunity to exhibit her artwork in Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jamshedpur, Jaipur, and almost all other major cities nationally along with a few international locations including Seoul in South Korea, Malaysia, and London. Her individual, as well as corporate clients, have blessed her artwork by showcasing it in their offices and residences which include that of Bollywood personalities and major public and private enterprises.

She was presented with the Agnipath Kala Ratan award and the Youth Icon Award for promoting folk art at the International level back in 2019. She was also conferred with the Rani Laxmi Bai Kala Award the same year.

In 2022, she was credited with the Indian Icon Award and Women's conclave Award for being the best artist in the Madhubani Painting category.

The aim in Life: She abides by her saying " It is never too late to be what you might have been. Love your family, work super hard and live your passion". She hopes her life story can encourage all women to reinvent themselves. She is super grateful to her family, mentors, colleagues, and friends, for all the support that they have extended to her. She wishes to achieve new heights on the professional front as she goes along the journey.
